Introduction to Mobility Mentoring Foundations Course
Welcome!
EMPath is so thrilled to have you take part in our first online course on Mobility Mentoring! Over the next several weeks we will learn about the foundational concepts in Mobility Mentoring; diving into brain-science informed practice, tools that support the work, and cultivating a community of learners.
Over the past seven years, the Economic Mobility Exchange™ has developed a network of nonprofit organizations and government agencies– greatly expanding the Mobility Mentoring model, reaching over 200,000 people. We are so proud of the work you have all done and continue to do. With the launch of Engage@EMPath we are looking forward to better reach current and future Exchange members and intentionally building a community of learning across all Mobility Mentoring-informed practitioners and organizations.
The Mobility Mentoring Foundations course is designed to be completed in several weeks, not exceeding four weeks. These modules are designed for you to see Mobility Mentoring in action, reflect on what you have seen, learn about the intentional practice, and prepare you to put it to practice.
Below you will find a description of the learning outcomes of this course and grading and course certificate information.
Learning Outcomes
- Use Mobility Mentoring informed interactions, tools, structure, and functions to coach participants and help unleash their intrinsic motivation
- Examine the scientific underpinnings and theories of change inherent in Mobility Mentoring practice
- Use Mobility Mentoring practices to support the transformation of the environment in which you work, the sector of human services, and lives of participants
Grading & Course Certificate
Throughout each module there will be several ungraded checkpoints, known as Learning Checkpoints, to allow for moments of reflection and review of material. At the conclusion of each module (4) there will be graded assessments to check for comprehension before moving onto the next module. These assessments account for 100% of your final grade.
Upon completion and passing of the course at 80% or above, a Course Certificate will be awarded.
